Medical Director
Dr. Anna Jenstead
I’m Dr. Jenstead, and I graduated from UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. I have experience in small animal general practice, emergency medicine, soft tissue and dental surgery, and a particular interest in spay/neuter surgery. I also serve on the executive board for the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology (AAVD) and the organizing committee for the North American Veterinary Dermatology Forum (NAVDF). Outside of work, I play Ultimate Frisbee, ride with the local polo club, and enjoy long walks with my English Shepherd mix dog, Barrett.
I have always loved solving puzzles, and think I would have liked to be a professional Scrabble Player! However, being a veterinarian allows me to combine solving medical puzzles with my passion for animal advocacy and client education.
ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN
Dr. Emma Svenson
Hi there, I’m Dr. Svenson, and I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. After that, I dove into a small animal rotating internship at a local specialty hospital. Following that, I pursued a residency in laboratory animal medicine and worked as a relief small animal veterinarian. Alongside my clinical work, I completed a Master of Public Health and am currently working towards a PhD in epidemiology to complement my passion for preventive medicine. When I’m not busy with work, studying for board exams, or deep in research for my thesis, you can find me horseback riding, exploring new destinations, or simply enjoying quality time with my family.
I had other childhood aspirations but always in the top few was to be a veterinarian. I am happy to bring care to other special pets in addition to cats and dogs, like Ferrets, Rats, Rabbits and other small species pets!

Certified Veterinary Technician
Sarah
My name is Sarah, and I’m a CVT. I graduated from MATC in 2004 with an associates degree as a veterinary technician. I have enjoyed being able to constantly learn in our field- medicine is progressive and always changing! Through my career I’ve learned that even more than loving animals, the relationships I could build with owners is what meant the most to me! This is probably why along with my love of learning I decided to continue my nursing career from animals to human medicine! My goal in my career is to mentor other CVT’s to have strong skills and a really caring attitude towards one another. My hope is to continue doing CVT work part time even after graduating from nursing school. I love working with all animals, although rabbits are my favorite! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family-or finding new hiking spots! I hope to be a friendly face that you enjoy seeing and trust the care I’ll deliver to your animal family members.
I have always loved helping and teaching, though when I was a kid, I dreamt of being a chef! I came to veterinary medicine because as a CVT, I get to do all the “fun-stuff”!

I’m Samantha, I have been working at Petcare since 2021 and am working towards becoming a CVT. I have always been a huge animal lover and currently have two dogs (Daisy and Ivy) and three cats (Hailey, Miso, and Mochi). In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis with my fiancé, hiking, playing with my dogs, and baking.
I have always had a strong interest in medicine and animals, however, when I was really young, I dreamt of being a pop star. While that wasn’t very realistic, I am glad my heart took me to veterinary medicine. My passion for learning, attention to detail, and love for animals have led me to the right place!

Ashley
I’m Ashley, a senior at UW Madison, studying Zoology and Conservation Biology with a Certificate in Education. My passion for animals sparked my journey in the veterinary field, leading me to pursue internships at a local zoo and through the Department of Natural Resources. These experiences have deepened my understanding of wildlife and conservation, shaping my path towards making a positive impact in the veterinary world.
A lesser-known secret about me? When I was a kid, I wanted to be a farmer when I grew up! I’m so happy I followed my heart though and went into veterinary medicine! My friendly demeanor and ability to have other humans and pets mimic my calm vibe puts me in the right place!
